There are many benefits to writing articles and submitting them to article publishing sites. Unfortunately, many writers submit articles that are missing several elements, that when used, can drive even more traffic to your site.
Most know that articles can be an excellent source for driving traffic to a website, and are a factor in moving sites higher in the search engine results. This means that the higher in the results a site is, the bigger your portion of the traffic flow pie.
But, it's not about just filling your site (or other sites) with articles, as this will not help your rankings in the search engines at all, and will not get you the maximum benefits article writing and submission can give your site and yourself!
Besides being well written, your articles needs:
Strategically Placed Keywords and Keyword Phrases
Article should be based upon keywords and keyword phrases that pertain to your site. This may seem obvious, as an author that has a site regarding music instruments for example, will most likely write an article about that subject. But, theres another side to keywords.
When a person uses a search engine to find a particular site or subject, they enter in specific keywords or keyword phrases, and it is to your benefit to find out what the most used keyword and phrases may be that relate to your site and subject. Fortunately, there are many tools on the internet to do just that, and you can use those tools to determine which keywords to use and write about.
Proper Keyword Density
Keyword density is the number of times a keyword or keyword phrase is used in an article. The number varies depending on the number of words used in an article. An effective article must have a keyword density that is not too high or too low. With a very high density, the essence of the article is lost and may turn off a reader as well as the search engines.
Articles should at least have ten to fifteen percent keyword density in their content for search engines to rank a site high in their search results. Getting a high rank is what articles do best for a site.
Good Article Content
You cannot just bloat an article with keywords. The article must also contain relevant information. Articles must be able to entertain people as well as provide good information and help readers with their needs. Articles should be written well with correct spelling and good grammar.
Correct spelling and grammar is very important so it is in your best interest not to use article cloning (or spinner) software to rewrite an article. If you want people to trust you, make your article enjoyable and well thought out.
People are attracted to figures (no pun intended), facts and statistics. Try to get great information and as many facts as you can. A well written article will boost your reputation as an expert in your chosen field or topic, and as more people believe in you, they will be able to trust you and your products.
Author Resource Box Linking
If you are going to contribute your articles to newsletters and other sites, DON?T ever forget to include a link to your site. A little resource box with a brief description of you or your site and placed right after the articles that you have submitted. If people like your articles, they will most likely click on the link directing them to your site. One thing that can harm you is stuffing links in your resource box until it looks like a spam email with links to unrelated sites. Keep your resource information short and to the point of the article. |
